Things you should know...
- Weymouth and Portland are hosting the Olympic Sailing from 29 July to 11 August and Paralympic Sailing from 1 to 6 September.

Public Transport
- As London 2012 is aiming for all spectators to travel to events by public transport, the transport arrangements for accessing Weymouth, Portland and the surrounding areas will be different.
- Public transport will be particularly busy before the start and at the end of sessions. If possible, the times to avoid travelling are 10am-1pm and 4-8pm. However, Sailing times may vary depending on weather conditions, so travel may be affected later in the evenings.
- Weymouth rail station is a recommended venue station for ticketed spectators attending the Olympic Sailing events in Weymouth and Portland. This station will be particularly busy two to three hours before events begin and one to two hours after events finish. It may also be busy when the last trains leave at the end of the day. This station is expected to be busy with spectators between:
- 9am-12 noon: Sunday 29 July - Saturday 11 August
- 6-11pm: Sunday 29 July - Saturday 11 August - Before travelling, make sure you understand all of your options and plan ahead.

Roads and parking
- To handle the number of daily visitors anticipated during the Games, it is essential that roads, traffic and parking in Weymouth and Portland are properly managed. So, to help keep Dorset moving, road and parking restrictions will be introduced when events are taking place.
- The Olympic and Paralympic Route Network will be in operation on roads in Weymouth and Portland during the Games, so there will be temporary changes to the way some of these roads operate. The route to Weymouth passes through East Dorset, where the A349 exit from the A31 Merley roundabout may be closed - download a detailed map of this route. - Local access and parking measures will be in place around Games venues. This will help to provide a safe and secure environment around the venues and help keep traffic moving for local residents and businesses, so they can carry on with their day-to-day activities. - Roads will be particularly busy before the start and at the end of sessions. If you have to travel by car, avoid travelling during the busiest periods from 10am-1pm and 4-8pm. However, Sailing times may vary depending on weather conditions, so travel may be affected later in the evenings.
- Shuttle buses will run from park-and-ride sites to the centre of Weymouth, which may affect roads and traffic in the area.
- If you have to drive during the Games, make sure you plan ahead and understand the road and parking restrictions in place.

Marine information
- When Sailing events are taking place, measures will apply to restrict berthing, mooring, anchorage and water sports in and around harbours in Weymouth and Portland.
