Guided walks and cycle rides will take place on Saturday 28 April near the London 2012 Rowing and Canoe Sprint venue at Eton Dorney to mark the launch of renovated routes along the River Thames.

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has spent more than £250,000 improving existing paths that connect Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor to Eton Dorney.

Both the walking and cycling events will be suitable for families and art installations will be on show along the 10 miles of path improvements.

Improvements include new surfacing, making the routes easier for cyclists to use in all weather conditions, and more signs for easier navigation. Other upgrades include widening paths and new bridge approaches.

Representatives from the ODA and Sustrans, the developers of the newly-improved routes, will be at The Firestation Arts Centre on St Leonards Road, Windsor to answer visitors' questions. London 2012 mascots Wenlock and Mandeville will also be around to meet visitors.
